Shivamogga to Jog cycling

This is our second cycling route and first outside namma Bengaluru. We (Myself and Tilak) were planning for Karwar to Panajim route but dropped at the end moment as we were told that Karwar was receiving heavy rain.

So, finally we decided to do the Shivamogga to Jog route and we left Bengaluru on 17th July and reached Shivamogga 4.30 AM. Shivamogga welcomed us with drizzles. We waited for 1 hour in the bus station and started peddling towards Jog.

The route plan was planned as below

Around 5.15 AM we started and as usual it started raining..after few minutes it stopped and we started peddling again.Below are few photos of early hours near Shivamogga.

Road from Shivamogga till Jog is really good and the entire journey was great. Around 9 AM we reached Anandapura and decided to have our breakfast.

After breakfast the ride was bit difficult, but we were peddling really hard. After cycling hard for around 2 hours we were near Sagar and it was heavy rain. It was so heavy that there was half inch of water on the road.Luckily we had taken enough plastic bags which helped us from keep our cloths and camera away from water.

Below are few photos of rain around Sagar and home stay where we stayed.
We took a small break at a tea shop near Sagar bus stop and around 12 noon and started our journey towards our destination. As we were hungry and wet we changed our plan a little and headed towards home stay we had reserved.Cottages and rooms at home stay Stay@Matthuga are really good.
Below are few photos of cottage
After lunch we left to Jog which is just 11km from home stay. Around 4PM we were near the jog and the jog was not visible. There was dense fog which was looking like silver screen. We waited for 5 minutes and we saw the jog. The view was spectacular and we forgot the tiredness of the journey.

A glimpse of jog captured in my camera.

We came back to home stay and had tea and left to see "Kallusanka" (nature made single stone bridge) which is very close to home stay. Below is the photo of the bridge.

After returning from Kallusanka had a good dinner and retired for the day.

Next day left home stay after break fast and cycled till Sagar and reached Shivamogga by bus around 2 PM. Once we reached Shivamogga had lunch with Shiva(Tilak's friend) and planned to visit "Kudali", place where river Thunga and Bhadra meets and the place has a Sharada Temple on the bank of the river.

Below are few photos of Kudali.

Left Shivamogga @ 11.PM, it was drizzling again. The entire journey was very good and enjoyed every minute of it.
